Trafalgar Beach
Trafalgar is a seaside resort village in Ugu District Municipality in the KwaZulu-Natal province of South Africa. Trafalgar is on the north bank of the Mpenjati river which enters the Indian Ocean at the Mpenjati Nature Reserve. The beach at Mpenjati Nature Reserve has been used by naturists for many years.
Southbroom
Southbroom is a coastal village in Ugu District Municipality in the KwaZulu-Natal province of South Africa. It is located 25 km south-west of Port Shepstone, 143 km south-west of Durban, and 213 km south of Pietermaritzburg.
The village was officially founded in 1933, and in the 2011 census had a population of 1,615 in 847 households.
History
In 1884, a pioneer named Alfred Eyles established a mission on the site of the present-day Outlook Farm. This is the earliest recorded settlement of Southbroom. In 1895, The Fascadale was wrecked on rocks off Southbroom beach while en route to Lisbon, but the timely arrival of another vessel meant that only two lives were lost.
The name "Southbroom" was first associated with the area in 1908 when the Swedish Zulu Mission took over the mission from the Eyles family, who subsequently renamed their home "Southbroom"; a reference to a family home in their native England. Frank and Gilbert Eyles, the youngest sons of Alfred, proclaimed the township in 1933.
In 1935, the Southbroom Hotel opened, with its tidal pool (known as Granny's Pool) opening two years later. The golf course was first opened in 1939, before being extended to a full 18 holes in 1948.
About us
The European background of the artist and photographer and his wife, a fashion designer, is evident throughout. Clear-cut lines, refreshing pictures and sculptures with accompanying texts characterise the beachfront hotel.
Each suite is a world on its own, a masterpiece of design in exquisite shades of aqua blue. The spacious pool set over the ocean is illuminated at night. Above it are the restaurant and lounge with projected images and music ranging from Pavarotti to Café Del Mar.
The chef makes suggestions, the guests decide and then enjoy - fusion cuisine, a combination of Italy and France with a dash of Asia, "con-fusion cuisine" as Guido jokingly calls it.
The five-star boutique hotel is surrounded by three world-class golf courses - Wildcoast, San Lameer and Southbroom – and several leading game reserves, home to the "big five", are within driving distance.

With its app. 60 m2 Inkawu is level with the Bar and Lounge.

Inyoni, the Zulu word for bird.
A suite to be described as “sexy bohemian” welcomes you with a colourful smile. Watch the birds prancing and preening on the balustrade of your terrace.
Inside and outside - everything is floating. A daybed for daydreams and Koi hand basins, artworks, books and little bits and pieces of art everywhere...
Inyoni offers app. 70 m2 with a bedroom, a lounge area and the daybed for decadent lazy afternoon naps or a good movie. It shows the old fisherman's house in new glamour and style.

Ufudu
Ufudu means turtle.
Ufudu is the second biggest suite with complete privacy. The spacious lounge opens to a sunroom and a beautiful terrace on top of tree ferns and elephant ears.
Fragrant gardenias and the stunning view even from the shower are highlights of the lodge.
App. 90m2 of space with art and design pieces and wonderful fabrics. Even from the shower, you can watch the dolphins. Direct pool access and complete privacy.
