HOUW HOEK INN, a gracious combination of old world charm and modern conveniences, is the oldest hotel in South Africa located on the site of a toll gate established in the Dutch East India era.
Situated in the heart of the Kogelberg (Biosphere) Reserve, 90km from Cape Town and 75km from Cape Town International Airport, you will rapidly forget congested freeways and pollution in this beautiful and peaceful environment.
The furnishings are elegant with an emphasis on comfortable, with large spaces and terraces with views of the magnificent mountains. Steeped in history with all the luxuries of home to ensure a magnificent stay.
Most of the existing ground floor building dates back to 1779. The upper storey was added in 1860 and since then the Inn has been extended progressively.
The adjoining old farm buildings have been converted into wedding and conference venues retaining their original character and offering all the facilities required.
Today, gracious old oaks, flanked by towering poplars and one of the largest blue gum trees in South Africa, spread their sheltering branches over the historic Inn.
Relax in the beautiful surroundings or enjoy the large variety of activities available: 'beach' volleyball, miniature golf, swimming, hiking, pool and bird-watching.
This lovely boutique hotel as 53 beautifully appointed rooms, of which 15 are family rooms and 38 are double rooms sleeping a total of 180 guests per night in 131 beds.
All rooms offer an en-suite bathroom, TV (with 16 channels DSTV) , telephone and most have a fire place and a balcony with beautiful views of the mountains.

Our main restaurant seats 100 guests, serves a la carte lunches and dinners (except Saturday dinner ) and a full English breakfast daily. It also serves a very popular country home cooking Sunday lunch carvery buffet.
The traditional Saturday Dinner/Dance is held in the Barn in which a 3 course set menu is served. Dinner is served from 19h30 and the music starts at 21h30
A la carte Lunches & dinners, light lunches, hot & cold beverages are served daily on the veranda, in the garden and in the Stagecoach Bar.
The hotel is an ideal venue for weddings and private functions as we have excellent facilities as well as a variety of options to suit your requirements and budget.

The Barn (max 220 guests) and the Ou Kaapse Hoek (max 250 guests) are the two venues most often used for weddings & functions. A garden wedding can be also be arranged, weather permitting.
Our magnificent garden with the Houw Hoek mountain range in the background will make your wedding photographs the most beautiful.
This hotel has 6 air conditioned conference rooms which can accommodate 5 to 200 delegates comfortably in a U-shape and up to 120 in school room style.
The hotel consists of 53 well appointed rooms with a total of 131 beds. The hotel is the perfect venue for a teambuilding conference with its well kept 4 hectares of lawn where many activities can take place.
